A bathroom exhaust fan cover is an essential component to ensure the proper ventilation of your bathroom. It is made up of three parts, including the fan housing, the motor, and the fan cover. Keeping your bathroom fan clean helps prevent mold and mildew from forming. In addition, it also improves the ambiance of your bathroom.
For cleaning purposes, your fan may need to be unplugged from its outlet. You can also vacuum the inside of the fan housing. This is best done with a vacuum that has a brush attachment.
To begin, place your bathroom exhaust fan cover on a towel. Make sure to dry it with another towel. If there is dust on the fan cover, use a damp microfiber cloth.
Remove the fan cover by pulling it in two directions. You can also pinch the springs together. Depending on the model of fan you have, you may have to unscrew a few screws to release it.
After you have removed the old cover, remove any wires attached to it. Then, insert the mounting tabs into the holes in the cover. Ensure that you press the wiring into the cover.
Once you have cleaned the fan and the cover, you can place the cover back into its receptacle. Before you do this, however, make sure that the breaker to the fan is turned off.
Next, check for air flow. If you see tissue paper falling down, your vent isn’t providing sufficient air flow.
